Answering the Call of Transformation

“Do what makes you happy” I saw this saying on a shirt and had to buy it because it was a reminder of something that I often forget. The start of a new year is often an opportunity to make changes in how we approach life, our choices, and our priorities.

As we spend time reflecting on what brings us joy, I believe we have an opportunity to discover something within us that we might not have known about or even realized was there. I have discovered a passion for self-exploration, compassion, curiosity and fun. What I have come to learn is that what I focus on I get to experience more of it. Have you had this experience?

For example, I have decided that this year is about implementation and integration. By this I mean I intend to implement that which I have been saying that I want to experience but have not followed through on any action steps. I also intend to integrate that which I believe and teach into my daily life in a much deeper, sacred manner. Life is about living not just praying, meditating, or talking. It is about experiences, individually and collectively. 2019 is a year of diving into what I say I want to experience and co-creating it with the Divine. The quote by Mahatma Gandhi says it beautifully - “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” I feel as if I am aligning with the Divine in harmonious ways when my thoughts, talk, and walk are all in alignment with what I truly believe. I am happy, and I sometimes choose not to see, accept, or act like it. I have decided that it is time to shift my consciousness into one that is harmonious with what I truly believe and wish to experience in my daily interactions.

Wayne Dyer has two quotes that I feel speak to what I am currently feeling in this moment: “Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.” and “You are not stuck where you are unless you decide to be.” What is your decision? Is it to be happy? To make a different choice in a particular situation? To have a new thought about something thus creating a new experience? Transformation is always one thought away…how about answering the call of transformation?

I leave you with one final quote: “You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life.” -Albert Camus

May we find the meaning of life by living our life, by choosing to do that which makes us happy, brings us joy, and encourages us to live the life that we have imagined and dreamed. Tinkerbell said that imagination has no age so I believe we can use our imagination at whatever age to create the life and experiences that we feel called. By doing so, we have the invitation to transform our thoughts, experiences, and life.
